How do magnetic lashes work?
Magnetic lashes have grown in popularity in recent years among women who love bolder makeup but have never managed to glue on false lashes themselves. There are two types of magnetic lashes on the market:
- Magnetic eyeliner lashes – lashes you apply onto a line drawn beforehand with magnetic eyeliner
- “Sandwich” magnetic lashes – a pack of these lashes contains 4 strips, 2 per eye. You attach them above and below your natural lashes.
The second method, although popular until recently, doesn’t have many fans these days. It took loads of patience combined with precision – and accepting that your first attempts might end in failure.
The easier way to apply magnetic lashes is with magnetic eyeliner. Thanks to it, putting on false lashes has become quick, easy and fun for a great many women.
Magnetic eyeliner contains a high concentration of a safe ingredient – iron oxide (listed in the ingredients as, e.g., CI 77499) – which gives it its magnetic properties. It’s an ingredient commonly used in makeup as a pigment in colored products. The difference is its concentration, which nevertheless remains safe for your health.

Wondering how to put on magnetic lashes? All you need to do is draw a line in any shape with the magnetic eyeliner. It’s important that the line is at least as thick as the lash band. Wait about a minute for the product to partially dry. If you like, you can trim the lash band if it’s too long for your eye! Then look down and place the lashes on your eyelid. Press gently with the applicator or your fingers and you’re done!
How are magnetic lashes different from regular lashes?
Why are more and more women giving up classic glue-on lashes? There are plenty of reasons. One of the most important is how easy they are to apply. You can put on magnetic lashes in a few minutes – even with no experience – while traditional glue-on styles take more skill, and very often people give up after many attempts.
Also keep in mind that you don’t need any glue to attach magnetic lashes. That way, you avoid the unpleasant feeling of your eye or your natural lashes being glued together.

How to apply half lashes
The answer is: very easily! You don’t need to trim half lashes for fear they’ll poke the corner of your eye. Just draw a line with magnetic eyeliner. Then wait about a minute and take the lashes out of the box with the applicator. The last step: press them onto the line you’ve drawn (press a little harder at the corners). And you’re done!
As you can see, applying half lashes is super simple. You can quickly enjoy a unique, natural look without worrying about irritation. Wear them whenever you want to define your eyes – and give your confidence a boost.
Importantly, many of us are allergic to some of the ingredients found in lash glues. With magnetic eyeliner, the risk of an allergic reaction is lower. Still, with any new product – especially one applied to the delicate eye area – it’s a good idea to do a patch test. When you use eyeliner, you don’t need to worry about the condition of your natural lashes. If you remove your makeup in two steps, your lashes and the skin on your eyelids stay safe.
Lash lifespan matters, too. Lashes applied with glue are harder to keep looking good, and they tend to stick together. Removing glue residue from them is also a hassle.
Magnetic lashes are a completely different story. Because they attach to eyeliner, you don’t have to worry about damaging them when you remove your makeup. When taking them off, gently pull at the outer corner and slowly remove the lashes. Only then move on to removing your eye makeup.
Wondering how to care for magnetic lashes? Here’s the answer!
- After taking off your lashes, remove any eyeliner residue with your fingernails or a cotton swab soaked in diluted makeup remover
- Avoid cleaning your lashes with products that contain oil
- Store your lashes in their original packaging
- Don’t pull on individual lashes, so they don’t fall out.
If you follow these rules, you can be sure you’ll be able to wear your magnetic lashes up to 30 times. You’ll find more tips in the leaflet included with your order and on every package!
